New meat processing factory

This client and its consultant team selected Clegg Food Projects to deliver a new factory to replace an existing site at a brand new location.

The project to deliver a 7,000 sq m facility was completed in a 38-week programme, in time to meet the sales demand of the site’s customer. The project included integrating the installation and commissioning of the client’s process equipment and concluded with production trials in the presence of the retailer’s technical team. The factory was producing saleable finished product only seven days after the building was handed over. 

Less than three years later, after delivering the original new factory, Clegg Food Projects  was invited back to create a major extension to the slicing and packing facility. Growing business demand required the provision of extra production and storage space and increased office and staff amenities at first floor level.

The work, including connections into the original factory, was completed while manufacturing of finished product continued.  Achieving this required excellent communication and close collaboration with the client’s production and engineering teams.  A flexible approach to working was required on the project - including extensive out of hours activities.
