Clegg Food Projects was appointed to carry out the construction of a new egg hatchery for Moy Park – one of the UK and Europe’s leading poultry producers.
Located on a green field site in Newark, the scheme required a very tight turnaround to deliver a fully functional facility from an undeveloped site.
Initial works included major ground preparations followed by the construction of the 8,000 sq m main facility. The project also included external works, the construction of an independent standby energy centre as well as extensive offices and staff amenities.
The Clegg Food Projects team coordinated the installation of building services to meet the requirements of specialist storage rooms and handling equipment. The site team also retained overall responsibility for the project health and safety and environmental management in the role of principal contractor under CDM regulations.
