New meat processing factory and extension

Clegg Food Projects has developed a great working relationship with Direct Table Foods, delivering multiple projects for the meat processing and manufacturing giant.

Overview of the Direct Table Foods factory and subsequent extension

Clegg Food Projects was selected by Direct Table Foods and its consultant team following a fire at its existing facility. The brief was to deliver a new meat processing factory on a brand-new site and would replace production at the existing location.

The 7,000 sq m facility was designed to produce Direct Table Foods’ quality bacon. The project therefore included coordinating the commissioning and installation of the client’s process equipment across the site.

Throughout the project, the Clegg Food Projects team developed a great working relationship with the client. Consequently, Clegg Food Projects was invited back for a second project less than three years after delivering the original factory.

This time, the brief was to create a major extension to the original factory to meet growing demand. This also included increased office and staff amenities on the first-floor level.

The work, including connections into the original meat processing factory, was completed while production continued as normal.
